One dead in deputy-involved shooting in Pico Rivera
PICO RIVERA (FOX 11 / CNS) - One person was killed in a deputy-involved shooting Thursday morning in Pico Rivera.
The deadly shooting occurred about 2:20 a.m. in the 7100 block of Pico Vista Road, according to Deputy Dangelo Robinson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies were initially in pursuit of the suspect around 1:30 a.m. when the driver crashed and fled on foot. Authorities confronted the man who they said was armed with a gun, and the first deputy-involved shooting occurred.
The suspect continued flee the scene and authorities were searching for the suspect for the next hour, officials said.
Deputies finally confronted the man on Pico Vista Road and said he was armed.
A second deputy-involved shooting was reported, and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, Robinson said.
No deputies were injured.
