North Park Elementary gets refresh, security changes following shooting

School starts Monday for students in San Bernardino at North Park Elementary School and there will be many changes when students arrive today, four months after a shooting that left a teacher and one student dead.

The shooting happened in April, when Cedric Anderson walked into his estranged wife's classroom and opened fire without saying a word, killing her and an 8-year-old student before killing himself.

Among the changes students will see Monday, is a new color scheme inside and out, new walls and doors and a new security system. There is now a camera alert system where staff can buzz in visitors and finger printing for volunteers at the school.

The school district says that counselors will be on hand today.
