Man stabs parents killing his mother in Santa Monica, police say

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (FOX 11) - A quiet Santa Monica home was rattled Thursday morning when police discovered a family that had been stabbed inside a home on Sunset Avenue.

Police received a report of a man needing help at the house but when officers arrived, they discovered a woman, dead, from multiple stab wounds. A man and his son were also found suffering from stab wounds but both are expected to survive.

Authorities say a man in his 40's stabbed his parents, killing his own mother, and then stabbed himself. That man is now in police custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
