Man stabbed at theater showing 'Straight Outta Compton'

A man was stabbed outside a movie theater where the popular rap movie "Straight Outta Compton" was being screened, police said today.

The victim, aged in his mid-20s, became involved in an altercation during a screening of "Straight Outta Compton" at the Century Stadium 25 cinema complex in the 1700 block of West Katella Avenue in Orange and told police he was stabbed in the parking lot around 9:35 p.m. Monday, said Anaheim police Sgt. Ryan Blackburn.

He suffered two stab wounds to the chest and fled seven blocks west to a gas station on the corner of Katella and Howell Avenue in Anaheim, where a bystander called 911.

The victim was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries, and the stabbing was being investigated by the Orange Police Department, Blackburn said.
