Man killed, 2 women wounded in shooting outside party in San Pedro

A man was shot and killed after leaving a party in San Pedro, police said today.

Two women were also struck by gunfire in the shooting, which occurred about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 1900 block of South Meyler Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers responded to the scene and were directed to the wounded man, who was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, police said.

The wounded women were also hospitalized and were expected to survive, police said.

The man had just left a party and was on the east sidewalk when an unknown suspect opened fire, police said.

A motive and a description of the shooter or shooters were not immediately available, but the shooting is not believed to have been gang-related, according to the LAPD.
