Man barricaded in back house arrested after early morning standoff

A man who was barricaded in a backhouse in Lancaster for several hours was arrested Friday morning, authorities said.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials said the standoff in the 43800 block of West 90th Street stemmed from an incident reported at 9:40p.m. Thursday near the intersection of West 90th Street and Avenue K. Details
of the incident were not immediately released.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Special Enforcement Bureau called on its SWAT team and Crisis Negotiation Team to take command of the operation and bring about a peaceful resolution, said sheriff's Sgt. Burton
Brink.

The man was taken into custody shortly before 6 a.m., according to the sheriff's department. His name was not immediately released.
