LAPD investigating deadly late night shooting in San Pedro

SAN PEDRO, Calif. (FOX 11) - Los Angeles police are investigating a deadly shooting in San Pedro Thursday night.

Two Hispanic men were hit by gunfire. One was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The second victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The deadly shooting happened just before 10 p.m. in the area of Santa Cruz Street and Pacific Avenue.

No arrests have been made. Witnesses told police the gunman drove away from the scene at a high rate of speed. A description of either the suspect or vehicle was not immediately available.

Police are working to determine if the shooting was gang-related. That information is unknown at this time.
