6 shot in restaurant parking lot near MacArthur Park
LOS ANGELES - An investigation was underway Wednesday after six people were shot in what may have been a drive-by shooting near MacArthur Park in the Westlake District, authorities said.
Officials with the Los Angeles Police Department said the shooting was reported just before 1 a.m. near the Yoshinoya restaurant on Wilshire Boulevard and Alvarado Street. Part of the crime scene spilled across the parking lot and across the street to MacArthur Park.
Officers arrived at the scene and found multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds. Some shooting victims were found in the restaurant parking lot on Wilshire Blvd., and at least two others were found near the Metro subway station on Alvarado St.
According to LAPD investigators on the scene, five victims were transported by ambulance and a sixth victim self-transported.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots followed by screaming and screeching tires. Police are now investigating whether the gunshots came from a passing car.
Investigators continue canvassed the area for clues and surveillance footage, and a stretch of Alvarado remains was closed between 6th to 7th streets.
A description of the suspect has not been released.
