LA gas prices continue to climb
LOS ANGELES - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles rose 4.6 cents Monday to $4.08, the highest price since May 10.
The average price has increased for 13 consecutive days, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 29.3 cents higher than one week ago, 51.5 cents higher than one month ago and 29.4 cents higher than one year ago.

The Orange County average price rose 4.4 cents to $4.068, which is 31.6 cents higher than one week ago, 51.9 cents higher than one month ago and 31.2 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 43.2 cents since Sept. 17 and has increased 71.9 cents since the start of the year.
The rising prices are the result of diminished supply primarily caused by unplanned maintenance issues at the Chevron and Marathon refineries in Los Angeles County and the absence of imported gasoline, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
