During the terrible events of 9/11, most Americans could only watch in horror and grieve. But a group of firefighters from the L.A. County Fire Department saw a city in ruins...and decided they needed to be at the scene.
15 years later, their efforts are still being cited as an example of Americans at their best...helping each other to recover from the worst domestic attack in history.
While they don't think of themselves as heroes, we know otherwise…and we welcomed them this morning.
Captain Dave Laub and Kevin Halverson from the L.A. County Fire Department were here with us on Good Day LA to talk about that period of time.
