Knife-wielding man fatally shot by police in Orange
ORANGE, Calif. - An officer-involved shooting investigation is underway after a knife-wielding man in Orange was fatally shot by police.
The shooting happened around 11:30 a.m. in the 6900 block of Magdalena Drive, said Sgt. Phil McMullin of the Orange Police
Department.
Police responded to a call of a "suicidal subject armed with a knife.''
"When we got there he approached officers and was uncooperative,'' McMullin said. He said officers "attempted less-lethal measures,'' but the suspect remained uncooperative, leading to the shooting.
Police recovered a knife at the scene. The suspect was described only as a man in his 40s.
No officers were injured. The case is ongoing.
