Kanye West says he's been 'used' politically

Rapper Kanye West says he wants to distance himself from politics and focus on being "creative" after being "used to spread messages I don't believe in."

The supporter of President Donald Trump took to Twitter Tuesday to say his "eyes are now wide open."

Two weeks ago, West visited The White House where he sat down with Trump. In a nearly 10-minute long speech in the Oval Office, West said he was pressured not to wear his red "Make America Great Again" cap. He said he made some hats that simply say "Make America Great" and he wants the president and Colin Kaepernick to wear them.

But on Tuesday West appeared to reverse course :"I support those who risk their lives to serve and protect us and I support holding people who misuse their power accountable."

"I believe in love and compassion for people seeking asylum and parents who are fighting to protect their children from violence and war."

He didn't specifically mention the President in his tweets. He did, however, slam conservative commentator Candace Owens for putting his name on the 'Blexit' project-- a campaign to spread the message about African Americans leaving the Democratic party.

"I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn't want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it."
