Junior high school students caught drinking vodka in cafeteria

Only on FOX 26 News, nine girls have been removed from their junior high school classes after they were caught consuming vodka in the campus cafeteria.

The girls, who are all eighth grade students at Royal Junior High School in the southeast Texas town of Pattison, will remain in alternative school indefinitely although not for the entirety of the school year, Royal Independent School District Stacy Ackley tells FOX 26.

After one of the girls brought the liquor to the junior high campus last week and mixed it with lemonade, she shared the mixture with eight of her female classmates during a lunch break, explains Ackley.

Although the girls were not intoxicated, the district was forced to take action against the them under state law. The penalty included three days of suspension and assignment to the alternative campus.
