Hurst Fire in Sylmar nears full containment
SYLMAR, Calif. - The Hurst Fire that sparked in Sylmar Thursday is almost completely contained.
According to Cal Fire, the fire burned 799 acres and was 95% contained as of Monday at 10:30 a.m.
The fire, which was reported around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 5900 block of Yarnell Street, is one of several burning in Los Angeles County amid dangerous, life-threatening Santa Ana winds.
According to LAFD, two mobile homes sustained damage.

Fire authorities are investigating whether downed Southern California Edison utility equipment sparked the blaze.
In a report released on Friday, SCE said their preliminary investigation found a downed conductor near an electrical tower in the area at 10:11 p.m Tuesday, minutes prior to the Hurst fire being reported. However, the company issued a statement saying it was unsure whether the damage observed occurred before or after the fire.

The fire burned within the footprint of the historic Saddleridge Fire.
The Governor's Office of Emergency Service estimated that more than 44,000 people in the area were under evacuation orders. All orders were lifted Thursday afternoon.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded the state a Fire Management Assistance Grant to help fund the fight against the Hurst Fire, as it also did for the Palisades and Eaton fires, according to the governor's office.
Evacuation Orders and Warnings
By Friday morning, all evacuation orders and warnings had been lifted.
