Human remains found in Angeles National Forest

Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office are investigating human skeletal remains discovered on Jan. 11 in Angeles National Forest.

The Sheriff's Office says hikers made the discovery Friday in a valley near Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road at Mile Marker 43.

Homicide and LA County Coroner investigators recovered a human skull and collected other skeletal remains at the scene.

No further details were immediately known. The investigation is ongoing.
