Hazardous materials team responds to drug lab in Willowbrook

(Fox11/CNS) - The discovery today of a drug lab in a residential
neighborhood in the unincorporated Willowbrook area prompted a fire
department hazardous material team response.
Sheriff's investigators served a warrant about 11 a.m. at a home in
the 2300 block of East 119th Street, near Mona Boulevard, and discovered the
PCP lab, according to Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Los Angeles County
Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
About two gallons of "finished PCP" was seized, along with two cans
of unfinished product, all worth an estimated $200,000, Navarro-Suarez said.
Also found at the location were several plastic bags containing highly
toxic sodium cyanide, large syringes, vials used in drug sales and several
firearms, Navarro-Suarez said.
Several people were detained, but there were no immediate reports of
arrests, according to the sheriff's department.
No evacuations were ordered.
