Group raises money to help puppy with 2 broken legs
SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - A pet rescue group is raising money to help a poor little puppy that can't walk because of a crippling injury to her back legs.
Angels Among Us said it found the puppy they are calling Jubilee at an area animal shelter and decided to give it the medical help she needs to someday walk again.
Jubilee can still wag her tail and she still craves attention and love despite whatever happened to this little puppy.
Dr. Kevin Winkler at Blue Pearl Specialty and Emergency Pet Hospital in Sandy Springs said that with two broken legs he's got a good idea of how that happened.
"Typically, these injuries mean she was hit by a car," Winkler said
He said the break was on the growth plate of each leg, but surgery would help and was really the only option for a better life.
"Right now, the legs are bent 90 degrees out and that doesn't allow the knees to function."
Angels Among Us Pet Rescue said a volunteer found Jubilee at a metro Atlanta animal shelter last weekend.
"So, we pulled her and now we are working with the public to raise the funds that will be necessary to help her," said Krysta Cannon of Angels Among Us
Anyone who would like to help in the effort by Angles Among Us, the group is excepting donations at website Angelsrescue.org.
