#Freedom100 Adoption Marathon At The Best Friends Animal Society LA Shelter In Mission Hills

We love the 4th of July fireworks lighting up the sky but the sound is terrifying for dogs and cats. Candy Crawford with Best Friends Animal Society says, "July 4th is notoriously the highest intake weekend for the local animal shelters and that means a lot of lives are at risk because of overcrowding." "Unfortunately that means some animals do get killed for space. So, that is the goal of Freedom 100-- to create space," says Michelle Satthe of Best Friends Animal Society.

Freedom 100 Adoption started Friday at noon and goes till 8pm on Sunday at the Best Friends Animal Society Los Angeles Shelter located in Mission Hills. People can adopt a dog or a cat for only $10. Our Gina Silva covered the story and fell in love with an adorable Chihuahua, Jack Russell Mix. "Heidi" is the new addition to her family.
