Four family members killed when small plane crashes in Agua Dulce

(FOX 11/CNS) - Four people were killed as a small plane crashed into a mountainside near Agua Dulce on Sunday.

Agua Dulce is about 40 miles north of Los Angeles.

The crash was reported to Los Angeles County firefighters at 10:54 a.m. at 30511 Briggs Road. The maps show that to be open country about a mile southeast of the Agua Dulce Road interchange on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway.

The crash site was about four miles from Agua Dulce Air Park.

Palmdale sheriff's deputies responded to the crash site and discovered the wreckage of a small plane crash with four dead inside, including two men, one woman and a girl under 10 years old.

According to media reports, a cousin identified the victims to reporters at the scene as Thomas Hastings, 65, who piloted the plane, his daughter Amber Hill, 27, her husband, Jacob Hill, 25 and Hastings granddaughter Madison Hastings Saxelby, 9.

The crash was being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
