Expert Grazing Board Crafter Yunnie Kim shares tips on making impressive platters for the holidays
LOS ANGELES - The holiday season means plenty of entertaining for friends and family. There's no easier or better way to make a wonderful impression than an abundant grazing platter. We have tips from Expert Grazing Board crafter Yunnie Kim to show us how it's done.
Yunnie suggests every grazing board should have:
A selection of cheeses (one hard, one soft, one should be cheddar it's a crowd pleaser)
•An array of nuts. Buy in bluk bins. Much cheaper then pre-bagged.
• Fresh and dried seasonal fruits you should always have on hand
• Cold cut meats, her favorites are salami and prosciutto. Also cut meats and cheeses yourself. Saves you money
• Olives
• Vegetables, seasonal and colorful are best
• Nuts, try 4 to 5 types *again purchase in bulk
• Flowers or other items you can also use as a garnish
Yunnie adds the key to putting together a beautiful board is laying. She recommends starting with the cheeses and bowls and building outward with fruit, crackers and fillers like flowers and foliage. To keep costs low, more affordable fillers such as seasonal fruits, crackers and foliage can help lower costs.
