Expecting father of three shot to death while walking home from baby shower in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Calif. (FOX 11) - A father of three was shot and killed in Wilmington on Saturday as he was walking home from his own baby shower, authorities said.

Julio Urbina, 31, was shot and killed in the 1500 block of East Young Street, just one block away from his home in Wilmington.

Urbina was a father of three children, with another on the way. Friends said he was walking home from a baby shower when was shot.

"He was actually coming home from his baby shower yesterday when he got shot," friend Natalie Fernandez said.

Neighbors said Urbina was not a gang member. They described him as a family man who worked hard to provide for his loved ones.

Police had no information on a suspect or possible motive.

A GoFundMe page was established to help Urbina's family.
