Domestic violence suspect arrested after pursuit in North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (FOX 11/ CNS) - Jordan Morris heard a commotion outside his balcony at the Gallery Apartments on Fair Street in North Hollywood. Turns out it was the end of a pursuit.

Talking about the suspect, Morris says, "He was in his car. He tried to hop the curb. They had guns drawn."

For Morris and others here what unfolded in front of their eyes was something they had only see on TV. Deputies from Ventura County chasing down a man who wouldn't cooperate when the tried to stop him. "And, at that point a pursuit ensued," says Sgt. Alan Hartkop with the Ventura County Sheriffs Department.

He says the suspect, who was wanted in a domestic violence case in Camarillo, was chased all the way to North Hollywood. Why here? Taylor Lamar, who lives at the complex, says the suspect was coming to stay with him for the weekend. He identifies him as Carlos Gonzalez and says the Camarillo man and his girlfriend were having relationship problems.

He says Gonzalez called him yesterday and said "...that he needed a place to stay. Him and his girlfriend were having issues. And, just like what happened two weeks ago, I helped him out with a place and it was the same thing but I was able to get them to talk and figure things. I guess it was the same thing over and over again."

Lamar, who plays music at his church, says when the two are together they go to church. Apparently, not this weekend after a pursuit and an arrest. Sgt. Hartkop says, "He'll be booked for the felony charges or domestic violence. And, the additional charges of felony evading will also be added to these charges."

Hartkop says the suspect was taken to the East Valley Sheriffs Station in Ventura County.
