LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - A runner who was disqualified from the L.A. Marathon was found dead in the Los Angeles River.
The body of 70-year-old Frank Meza was discovered shortly before 10 a.m. in the Cypress Park area.
Meza finished the marathon with an official time of 2:53:10, which was amazing for his age. But he was disqualified from the race for allegedly cheating.
An investigation found that Meza left the course during the race and never ran the full part of the course.
The investigation is ongoing into the cause of death.
