Crews rescue occupant of overturned vehicle that sheared fire hydrant in North Hills

At least one person was rescued from an overturned vehicle that crashed into a fire hydrant Thursday afternoon in the San Fernando Valley.

Emergency crews responded to the area of Lassen Street and Sepulveda Boulevard in North Hills at about 5 p.m. SkyFOX captured one of the vehicle's rescued occupants being escorted offsite by firefighters with unknown injuries.

The dark-colored Honda Accord sheared a hydrant causing water to shoot several feet into the air halting traffic in the area as fire crews worked to shut the water off.

Los Angeles police are conducting traffic control in the area during the investigation into this incident.

No further details were immediately known.
