SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (FOX 11) - A California Highway Patrol officer was struck by a car on the westbound 10 Freeway near Tippecanoe Avenue in San Bernardino Tuesday afternoon.
The collision occurred at about 4:38 p.m. when a Toyota sedan hit the officer, CHP says.
At least four vehicles stopped to help the officer, according to CHP who say the officer was running a traffic break on the freeway at the time he was hit. The officer was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition.
All westbound traffic lanes in the area are closed at the moment for the investigation. Traffic is being diverted off the freeway at Mountain View Avenue.
