MALIBU, Calif. (FOX 11) - The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Tactical Rescue team recovered the body of a missing Colorado woman on Thursday near the Paradise Cove area of Malibu.
LASD Air Rescue 5 and LASD Ocean Rescue III responded to the scene around 11:30 a.m. to conduct the body recovery operation.
Authorities said that divers recovered the remains of a deceased female, who was later identified by a family member as 30-year-old Jennifer Michelle Lorber, a Colorado woman who has been missing since May 23.
The body was located near where the vehicle of the missing woman was discovered abandoned on Sunday.
The circumstances surrounding the Lober's death are unknown.
Authorities said that Lorber checked into a Malibu motel on Thursday night, located in the 22000 block of the Pacific Coast Highway, before her car was discovered abandoned a few days later in Malibu.
Her rental vehicle, a white 2018 Toyota Rav4, was found at 11:15 p.m. Sunday parked on Pacific Coast Highway at Paradise Cove Road.
Lober reportedly suffered from depression and her family initially told deputies they were concerned for her health.
A $10,000 reward was offered by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for information regarding Lober's disappearance.
