Better Together: LA Regional Food Bank

This week, we're excited to bring you a special series where we have one goal in mind; in times of crisis and challenges, we come together, and we're better off for it. We are better together, and together we are going to get through this pandemic.

It's amazing to see the LA Regional Food Bank and all of its partners coming together to help those struggling during the pandemic.  They are working hard to meet the needs of those impacted by the coronavirus, as well as individuals who typically need their assistance.

Representatives of the food bank say that many families have lost their jobs because of the pandemic, and there hasn't been the ability for family members to go back to work and provide food for their families, so they come to their center for help.

Palettes of food are being loaded onto trucks each day and will be distributed to schools, pantries, and senior centers. They normally distribute 1.3 million pounds of food every week, but now it's increased to 2 million pounds a week. One dollar can provide four meals for a family.
