1 killed, 2 hurt in suspected DUI crash in Santa Clarita

Authorities were investigating Wednesday a crash that left a suspected DUI driver dead and two other people injured in Santa Clarita.

The two-vehicle collision was reported at 10:52 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Dorothy Street and Golden Valley Road, said Officer Patrick Kimball of the California Highway Patrol.

The deceased driver was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

Two people -- a man and a toddler, based on reports from the scene -- were taken to hospitals, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher. Their conditions were not available, although the patients were airlifted, usually indicating serious injuries.

Details about what caused the crash were not immediately available.
