Rain falls on SoCal for a third day, more showers expected

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11 / CNS) - Some rain is continuing to fall in the Southland as yet another storm system moves through the area. Rain is expected to continue off-and-on throughout the day ... coupled with some dense patches of fog that's making it
tough to commute.

Things are expected to clear up over the next two days ... but more rain is in the forecast for later this week.

Monday's rainfall was variable in L.A. County, ranging from no rain at UCLA to 1.75 inch in Avalon.

The NWS forecast rain in L.A. County today and highs of 57 on Mount Wilson; 60 in Palmdale; 61 in Lancaster, Saugus and Avalon; 62 in Pasadena, San Gabriel and at LAX; 63 in Burbank; and 64 in Downtown L.A., Long Beach and Woodland Hills.

Rain was also forecast in Orange County, along with highs of 61 In Laguna Beach; 62 in San Clemente and Yorba Linda; 63 in Newport Beach, Anaheim and Mission Viejo; 64 in Fullerton; and 65 in Irvine.

Temperatures are expected to climb by a few degrees under partly cloudy skies Wednesday and by several degrees more under partly cloudy skies on Thursday, when temperatures will reach the mid 70s in several L.A. County communities and a few in Orange County. Temperatures will fall by 10 degrees or more on Friday, when another round of rain is in the forecast.
