Magnitude 4.0 earthquake: Shallow quake rattles the Southland

A shallow magnitude 4.0 earthquake was reported Thursday morning just 10 miles from Corona, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake was reported at 2:09 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 6.2 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 7.5 miles from Trabuco Canyon, 10 miles from Corona and 9 miles from Rancho Santa Margarita.
