Looters use stolen truck to crash into Tampa business, deputies say
TAMPA (FOX 13) - Deputies are searching for a group of looters who used a stolen vehicle to crash into a business.
The incident occurred while Florida remained under a state of emergency and when Hurricane Irma was expected to hit Tampa Bay. On Sunday at 10:39 p.m. at Teresa's Food Mart, located at 11723 North 15th Street, a four-door white Ford F-150 reversed into the front of the store, according to Hillsborough County deputies.
Four unknown men entered and stole numerous items, according to Hillsborough County deputies.
Surveillance video shows the front glass doors shatter from the impact. Two of the four suspects slipped in the debris before continuing to run inside the store. They are seeing carrying and scrambling to put the stolen items back into the damaged truck.
A vehicle matching the suspect vehicle, which has significant rear-end damage, was stolen on September 10, deputies said.
Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information on the suspects to call the agency at 813-247-8200.
