California fires update for Thursday, Jan. 23

As critical fire weather continues to strike in Southern California, not only do first responders have their hands full with multiple fires burning in the area, they are also preparing for a storm expected this weekend that could trigger mudslides in burn scar areas. 

Hughes Fire torches over 10,000 acres

The Hughes Fire burned more than 10,000 acres across the Castaic, forcing 55,000 residents into evacuation orders or warnings across Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

Air Quality Alert: Run purifier amid fires

Angelenos are being encouraged to keep their air purifiers on and to wear a mask when outside in the wake of the recent fires popping up across Southern California.
