Are u ok?: Kati Morton helping the world care for its mental health, one YouTube video at a time

Kati Morton holds a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a private practice in Santa Monica.

Over the past several years, she's also used YouTube as a way to further educate the world about all things mental health. Her channel has 656,000 subscribers and more than 44 million video views to date.

One of her specialties is working with people experiencing eating disorders -- but her videos cover a multitude of topics with titles like, "What is HOARDING Disorder?" and "3 Ways to Beat Social Anxiety."

A video discussing some must-know signs of depression has racked in more than 2 million views and counting.

Her new book, "Are u ok?: A Guide to Caring for Your Mental Health," furthers her mission by walking readers through some of the struggles we face related to mental health and how to find a therapist that's right for you.

She joined me on Olympic & Bundy to talk about her background in becoming a licensed marriage and family therapist, her experience in treating eating disorders, the signs and symptoms of some mental illnesses out there, how some of these topics are covered in film and television, why anyone should go to a therapist -- and a lot more.

Listen to the full episode with Kati Morton on Dec. 9!
