Woman struck and killed by bus in Mid-Wilshire area
LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - A woman was struck and killed early Tuesday by a Metro bus in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles, authorities said.
Emergency crews responded just before 12:30 a.m. to the 4400 block of Wilshire Boulevard near Rossmore Avenue and found the victim. Paramedics performed CPR on the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The bus driver told police the woman was initially sitting at the bus stop before she stepped out into the street and was hit.
One bystander rushed out and tried to help the woman, said to be Hispanic and in her 50s, according to police.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
The Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division was investigating the fatal crash.
