Wild freeway crash caught on camera

Police are searching for the suspect who caused a nasty wreck on a local freeway and it was all caught on camera!

"Everybody was lucky, We were lucky."

Brittany, who didn't want her identity revealed, is worried for her safety after trying to chase down the driver who caused a terrible accident she witnessed Sunday night. "We figured the moment we saw him he was under the influence, there was no sleepiness he was under the influence of something."
Said Brittany.

She and her boyfriend were traveling west on the 210 freeway around 9 pm when they spotted what they believed to be a DUI driver veering erratically so she began recording from the passenger seat. Moments later near Sierra Madre, her worst fears were realized.

"We noticed he starts driving in two three lanes even further and out of nowhere this white semi ends up hitting him because he tries to cut him off. After he hit the semi he spun and hit two cars against the divider." Said Brittany.

Fortunately, Brittany and her boyfriend did not get hit and none of the other crash victims were hurt. The driver took off.

Kenny Morse, LA traffic expert known as Mister Traffic watched the frightening video and says, defensive driving is key when encountering an impaired driver. "Call 911 and report a drunk driver but stay behind them because they can do something erratic and you want to stay back." Said Morse.

Brittany says, after the crash she called 911 and followed the driver for about four miles to get his plate number. She says she's coming forward to tell her story hoping to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving. "I was the only one that didn't get hit and I feel like it was the right thing to do to, follow him and find out who he was." Said Brittany.

We reached out to the CHP which confirms its investigating a hit and run.

Brittany says the CHP told "her" they haven't identified the possible driver and are currently searching for him.
