No California Powerball winner yet! That was the word late Friday from Lottery officials in Sacramento. Ever since the Wednesday night drawing people have been wondering who has the winning ticket from a Chino Hills 7/11 store.
Historically, on big jackpots, Lottery officials say it can take several weeks before a winner comes forward. They add, It's very unlikely a winner would bring their ticket to the retailer where they purchased it, but would make plans to go to a district office.
In our area, there are three so, it could be Santa Fe Springs. Once there, there are claim forms that have to be filled out. That takes some time. And, from the 7/11 - lottery officials have taken surveillance videos which could be used in the verification process when the ticket is presented.
Lottery offices are not open on weekends and, since Monday is a holiday, the next opportunity for someone to present their winning ticket will be 8am Tuesday morning.
