Westlake District shooting leads to LAPD pursuit
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - Three suspects are in custody after a shooting in the Westlake District area of Los Angeles led to a brief police pursuit Tuesday afternoon.
The pursuit ended near the corner of Temple Street and Union Avenue in the Echo Park area.
Prior to the chase, one victim was shot. It happened in the area of Witmer Street and 3rd Street in the Westlake District. This lead to an LAPD pursuit after officers attempted to pull over the suspect vehicle.
At one point, the suspects bailed from their car in an attempt to outrun the police. They were taken into custody at a nearby gas station.
Los Angeles police say the victim, a man in his 30s, was shot in the foot and is in stable condition but is not cooperating with police. No officers were injured in this incident.
A nearby school was placed on lockdown while police worked to take the suspects into custody.
No additional information was immediately released by police. The investigation is ongoing.
