26-year-old Mary Pat Seiss, from the Philadelphia area, was treated at CHOP for cancer when she was 6 years old, then again at 9 years old. Sadly, she relapsed in December 2009. She has been fighting this last bout for 6 years. Mary Pat just finished 12 rounds of Proton Therapy at Penn Medicine.
On Saturday, Mary Pat was at the Oakmont Bakery in Pittsburgh. The young woman thought she was baking a cake for a girl also fighting cancer. However, the day was all about her, thanks to the organization, Jamie's Dream Team,
Her brother, Robert Siess who is stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, flew into town to surprise her. With the help of Jamie's Dream Team, they surprised Mary Pat with a cake and the best news of all: a trip to Disney World. Her reaction was truly priceless.
