Video captures Sheriff's deputy shooting of mentally ill man

DOWNEY, Calif (FOX 11) - The family of a mentally ill man who was killed by LA County deputies released cell phone video and say it proves that they used excessive force.

LA County Sheriff's deputies unleashed a barrage of gunfire in Downey last month when a car they surrounded began to back up. They say lives of several deputies were threatened. John Berry was killed in front of his own family. They had called authorities hoping to have a mental evaluation done on him. Instead, Berry ended up dead.
