Multiple vehicles were damaged after someone threw chunks of concrete from an overpass into traffic on the 101 Freeway, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol officers were called around 12:15 a.m. Friday on a report that someone was throwing a large object from the Silver Lake Boulevard overpass into northbound traffic on the freeway.

One vehicle, operating as an Uber with passengers, suffered the most damage. The concrete chunk went through the windshield and landed on the passenger side floor. Another vehicle suffered damage after the brick went into the woman's headlight.

CHP said a third vehicle was also struck, but left the area before officers arrived.

No injuries were reported.
