Valley Village Barricade Ends With Man In Custody
LOS ANGELES, CA - (FOX/CNS)Police have arrested a man who barricaded himself in an apartment in the Valley Village area for about five hours.
LAPD officers went to the 12300 block of Riverside Drive about 3:30 a.m. in response to a report that a man had tried to force his way into an
apartment.
The man reportedly was the ex-boyfriend of a woman who lived there and had threatened her with a knife.
She managed to escape, but the man barricaded himself inside and refused to come out.
Adjacent apartments had to be evacuated during the standoff and local streets were shut down as a SWAT team responded to the scene.
The unidentified man was taken into custody about 8:30 this morning, and the area was reopened to traffic.
