Ultimate fan amasses 60-years of Dodgers memorabilia

Since 1958 when he was a little boy, RIchard Santillon has been collecting Dodgers memorabilia. His collection includes everything from an opening day ticket when the Dodgers first came here from Brooklyn to baseball cards, magazines, program books to baseballs...lots and lots of them.

He even has lots of bobble heads.

Santillon's collection is housed at the Whittier College Institute of Baseball Studies. It is said to be the largest private collection of its kind.

Joe Price is the institute's co-founder and co-director. He says it's one thing to collect memorabilia it's another to be able to extract the stories in the history of a team like the Los Angeles Dodgers through that memorabilia and that, he says, is what his institute does.
