Two found dead in Long Beach apartment

LONG BEACH, Calif. (FOX 11) - Police in Long Beach are investigating the deaths of two people found inside an apartment.

Officers were asked by the landlord of the two-story building to conduct a welfare check about 2:55 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of East Appleton Street and found the deceased after making entry into the residence, according to Long Beach Police Department Lt. Megan Zabel.

Homicide detectives responded and coroner's personnel were summoned to assist in the investigation into how the two died, Zabel said.

The ages and genders of the deceased were not released.
