Trap Kitchen LA: From gangs and drugs to good food

It's always busy at Trap Kitchen LA, a catering service run by two former rival gang members in Compton.
Malachi Jenkins - a member of the Crips and Roberto Smith - a member of the Bloods.

A mutual friend introduced Malachi to Roberto. They became fast friends and both agreed, they were tired of the gang life and tired of hustling drugs.

It all started when Malachi also known as "Chef Spanky" enrolled at Le Cordon Blue. Shortly after, he started cooking meals and posting photos on Instagram.

People immediately wanted to place their orders and have the meals delivered.

As the business grows, Malachi and Roberto hire local help. Men who like themselves want to better their lives.

Like Larry Williams, who just got out of prison for assault.
