LOS ANGELES - More than 90 thousand people have registered to buy tickets, but only a fraction of them have actually received an invitation to buy tickets.
Tens of thousands have been waitlisted, and Staples Center officials are warning that fans without tickets will not be allowed anywhere near Staples or L.A. Live during the memorial.
Staples is also advising fans that the tickets are not transferable. Those tickets must be used by the person who bought them.
Organizers say if the demand exceeds the number of tickets being sold, a lottery system will go into effect.
Bryant and his daughter Gianna, along with seven other people died after a helicopter they were in crashed into a hillside in Calabasas on the morning of January 26.
All funds and ticket sales gathered from the memorial will to go to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.
FOX 11 will have full coverage of the memorial starting Monday morning with a special edition of Good Day L.A live from Staples Center.
