Teen girl killed while crossing street in Baldwin Park; driver arrested
BALDWIN PARK (FOX 11 / CNS) - One pedestrian was killed and another was injured when they were struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Baldwin Park, authorities said Tuesday.
The driver involved was arrested in the crash, which occurred at 9:55 p.m. Monday in the area of Pacific and Vineland avenues, according to Baldwin Park police Sgt. Jorge Huerta.
Responding officers and paramedics rendered aid to the victims, but a female pedestrian died at the scene, Huerta said. A male pedestrian was taken to a hospital for treatment, but his condition was not immediately reported.
The pedestrians were crossing the street in a marked crosswalk, police said.
The driver was arrested and booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, according to Huerta.
