Study: Your phone could be aging your skin
A new study suggests light from a cell phone screen could age you.
According to data published in the Journal Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity, electronic devices like phones, tablets and laptops transmit high-energy invisible light which can accelerate aging of the skin.
The type of light found decreases the amount of carotenoids in skin, which can lead to age spots and discoloration.
However, other experts say not to worry just yet, as the light could have some positive effects as well. They say low-level light devices can be used to treat conditions like acne and alopecia, as well as scarring.
