Special Quilts in Memory of a lost Father Stolen in Package Theft

Authorities today were seeking the public's help in recovering two quilts, stolen during a Newhall package theft, that were made to honor a family patriarch a year after his death.

The custom-designed quilts were in a box that was stolen on Dec. 23, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which did not disclose where in Newhall the theft occurred.

They were ordered by the late man's wife as surprise Christmas gifts for
their children.

"Their dad tragically passed away one year ago and their mom had painstakingly selected some of his favorite T-shirts to be made into two custom quilts for his son and daughter," according to a sheriff's department
statement. "The family has already suffered tremendous loss, and having these quilts stolen has added to their heartbreak."

The quilts bear the words "My T-shirts and love to keep you warm 4Ever, Dad."

If you have any information please contact the Newhall police department. Anonymous tips can be made by
