Sir Paul McCartney appears to get snubbed at Tyga's Post Grammy party

One of the most famous faces in music might not be recognizable to everyone.

Eighteen-time Grammy award winner Paul McCartney wasn't allowed into the Hollywood Grammy party Monday night.

TMZ caught the pop icon being turned away along with Beck and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins at rapper Tyga's party at the Argyle club.

Tyga tweeted "Why would I deny @PaulMcCartney stop it. He's a legend. I don't control the door. I had no knowledge SIR PAUL was there. I just performed and left."

McCartney, Hawkins and Beck's rep said an e-mail statement, "No one has any further comment re: last night."

A publicist for the club said what happened was a misunderstanding. McCartney and his crew tried to enter through an exit door. Security guards are mandated to not let anyone in that door, and it's unclear whether or not they recognized McCartney. The publicist says it wasn't until a VIP host came to the door that the crew was welcomed. By that time, the publicist says the group found out they were at the wrong party, and left on their own terms.

In an incident captured on video by the celebrity news website, the 73-year-old McCartney approached the night club's door with his party before being stopped by a bouncer. The group was blocked from entering by the security guard, and continually told to back up.

"How VIP do we gotta get?" McCartney asked, laughing. "We need another hit."

Another man came out of the building and appeared to tell the group they couldn't get in. McCartney and his party then walked to their car and moved on to the Republic Records party at Hyde Sunset Kitchen & Cocktail.

TMZ caught up with Tyga as he left The Argyle party and informed him about McCartney's security run-in.

"He's a legend," the rapper responded. Similarly taken aback was Bow Wow. "You have to be lying," he told TMZ.

"There's no way."

Managers for The Argyle bar couldn't be reached immediately for a comment.
