Shotgun-wielding man arrested after hours-long SWAT barricade

An armed man was taken into custody this morning after barricading himself inside a garage in South Los Angeles for several hours, authorities said.

The standoff started at about 12:55 a.m. at 60th Place and Budlong Avenue, said Lt. Angela McGee of the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street Station.

"The front house argued with the back house,'' McGee said. "The man in the back house pointed a gun at the woman in the front house.'' The suspect then barricaded himself inside the garage.

A SWAT team was sent to the scene, and the man was taken into custody shortly after 6 a.m., police said. No injuries were reported.

The man's name was not immediately released.
